Throwback to Iceland
Hrunalaug hotspings are definately off the normal tourist path. The hot pot itself is located about an hour and 20 minutes from Reykjavik, from road 1 then onwards towards the town Flúðir, I wont give exact directions over the web, but if you really wish to find this place send us an email and we will hook you up! There is no fee to access these springs, no facilities, and pretty much no people anywhere to be found. This is definately a "local" destination. The people who built the hot pot also put up a little shack that you can get changed in, but most likely no one will bother you if you just strip on down, you are in the middle of nowhere after all. P.S If you want to be extra classy like us, grab yourself a bottle of champagne for the soak but dont forget to bring out whatever garbage you take in!
