The small city of Siena was only about 20 minutes from the castle that we were slummin it in ;) while in Tuscany. We decided to go check out the city when we had a few extra hours to kill waiting for our friend's wedding to start. The Tower of Mangia is the highest point of the Piazza del Campo in beautiful Siena. We decided to take a climb up the tower and get a view of the Piazza below. Parts of the climb are much tighter than Giotto's bell tower, but its only half the number of steps and they have a red/green light to let people know when to go. For the 10 Euro ticket, the view was worth the uncomfortable climb!
