The Siena Cathedral was definitely a sight to behold. We stopped in on a beautiful day with a couple friends while trying to kill a few hours before our buddy's wedding (and after crossing, " find St. Catherines severed, mummified head" off our bucket list). The ornate carvings and statues were incredibly beautiful. In the mid 1300's this church was on schedule to become one of the largest cathedrals in all of Eurpoe but was stopped dead in its tracks by the Black Plague. As of now it remains unfinished, but is still wonderful to visit!
